Did you know the Hanover Hospital plays a key role in our County's economy? As one of the largest employers, we support our local businesses by purchasing all goods and services right here in Hanover and Washington County. While the economic benefits of our facility to the community are substantial, we also help preserve the health and population of our citizens through health care services. Our Hanover Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed program needs help from volunteers to keep it going.
Volunteer Opportunities (Students and Adults): Calling Bingo, visit with patients, tidy up, read to residents, play games, do puzzles, help with crosswords. Adult Only Opportunity: Quilting group that meets every Monday afternoon to quilt for others is held in our facility. Money made form the quiltings go to the activities fund for the residents. Volunteer Qualifications (Students and Adults): A general tour of facility and introduction to our patients, along with one-on-one instructions on volunteer service. Hanover Intermediate Swing Bed also has a Candy Striping program. This program is offered during the summer months for students age 12 to 15 years. Description: assisting with activities, tidying rooms, making beds, filling water pitchers, giving manicures, individual visits with the residents, playing games, playing cards and doing puzzles. Time Commitment: 100 hours for the summer |
